It's just this slice of life bullshit that doesn't build character at all, just random missions. The plot has had no real development since the first episode, nothing really happens. This show is as much of a disappointment as a sequel to the original, as it is as a stand alone show. It took me 40 episodes to realize that whatever the first Naruto had, Boruto lacks completely. "The Sequel No One Asked For But Still Got" Check out the manga but avoid the anime at all costs! The anime is mostly not based on the manga but is instead anime canon (I don't know why?). Update: I have been reading the Boruto manga for a while now and it is good. The fight scenes areĪll boring to watch with no real cost to their outcome and kids who aren't even genin yet beat jounin level shinobi constantly.Īs someone who's watched Naruto and Naruto Shipudden, I have to say I'm disappointed. As the main character, 80% of his identity is the fact that he "hates" his dad, Naruto. It feels like the story is just bumbling on and skipping any of the episodes will have resulted in me missing nothing.īoruto (the character) is the worst part of it all. The animation is atrocious half of the time and there is zero plot development. I can't believe that it took me 31 episodes before I finally accepted how awful it is.īoruto tries to capitalise on Naruto nostalgia but has nothing going for it. New friends and familiar faces join Boruto as a new story begins in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations.īoruto is a trainwreck. However, a sinister force brewing within the village may threaten Boruto's carefree life. Unfortunately, this has only worsened his arrogance and his desire to surpass Naruto which, along with his father's busy lifestyle, has strained their relationship. Despite having inherited Naruto's boisterous and stubborn demeanor, Boruto is considered a prodigy and is able to unleash his potential with the help of supportive friends and family. Under the watchful eye of Naruto and his old comrades, a new generation of shinobi has stepped up to learn the ways of the ninja.īoruto Uzumaki is often the center of attention as the son of the Seventh Hokage. Now resembling a modern metropolis, Konohagakure has changed, particularly the life of a shinobi. This is all due to the efforts of the Allied Shinobi Forces and the village's Seventh Hokage, Naruto Uzumaki. And in typical adolescent fashion, girls and boys have crushes on each other and discuss the positive physical attributes of specific classmates.Following the successful end of the Fourth Shinobi World War, Konohagakure has been enjoying a period of peace, prosperity, and extraordinary technological advancement. Female ninja students describe themselves as being "sexy" and strong. Plus, characters sometimes talk about "screwing" over someone and causing ultimate destruction. In addition to the kicks, hits, and flips, sharp weapons and explosions are used to further color the battles. Violent fights break out between powers of good and evil, among kids in the academy, and even sometimes within a character's own self. Parents should expect lots of wham-bam, ninja-like battles in every episode. It's these qualities that also make him appealing to viewers - as demonstrated not only on television, but in DVD and video game sales as well ( Naruto is quite the franchise). At times he's annoying, arrogant, and naïve, but his unyielding spirit to learn and succeed furthers him in his studies.
